UB Allied Health Students Rule Inter-school Word Wizard Match 2024

After three exciting rounds of spelling complex medical terminologies, three students from the University of Baguio clinched all major awards in the Rodeo Club 21st Witches and Warlocks Word Wizard Inter-Medical School Spelling Competition held on March 1, 2024, at Benguet State University.

Victor Lorenzo R. Gonzales, a fourth-year BSMLS student emerged victorious as he bagged the top prize. Also a student of the BSMLS program, 3rd year Trixia May P. Alerta took home the second prize. Landing 3rd place is Ms. Angelica Issy Mari Lumpias, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) student. A total of nine (9) UB students represented the institution in this event. Winners were awarded with plaques and cash prizes while all participants were given Veterinary Medicine merchandise.

The annual word wizard spelling competition is organized by the Rodeo Club – Benguet State University (BSU) Chapter and is among the activities conducted during the Veterinary Medicine Week Celebration of the College of Veterinary Medicine of the university. The competition featured Etymology, grammar correction of Science, Math, and Agriculture, and general terminologies from the Oxford Dictionary and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

The victory of the students not only brings pride and honor to the university but also serves as an inspiration for other students and quiz enthusiasts. Their commitment to intellectual pursuits exemplifies the values of competence and integrity that reflect the institution’s core values.
