Celebrating Exceptionalities Year 5: UB SNS Continues its Legacy to Serve

The UB School of Natural Sciences continues with its pledge to serve the patients of the La Trinidad Therapy Center for Children with Disabilities (LTTCCD) when it conducted its annual medical outreach and gift-giving activity last December 2, 2023. The event was held at the open area near the tourism building in La Trinidad, Benguet.

This annual outreach activity started in December 2019 and even during the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school continued to extend its services to 97 patients (including their families) of the therapy center. Among the services that were rendered included consultation with doctors, vital signs, laboratory tests (CBC, urinalysis), and provision of medicines & vitamins. Also, this year’s outreach activity was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Dental Association – Benguet Chapter. Thus, dental check-ups, cleaning, and fluoride application were also done. The activity involved the participation of SNS faculty members & staff, BSMLS & BSPT alumni. The grocery packs and medicines were purchased through donations from alumni.

In as much as Christmas is the season of giving, the school organizes these activities to share its resources and somehow bring hope among members of disadvantaged communities.
